Dan Walcott graduated from Calvin College with a Religion and Theology major
and an Academic Studies of Religion minor and has been teaching high school
Bible for thirty years. In 1998 he studied Revelation with Professor
Kidd from Reformed Theological Seminary and then took his first trip to Turkey
and Greece in January of 1999 and was amazed at how much one can appreciate
Revelation when standing in the places that were originally addressed in this
letter. That
spring Greece and Turkey became even more significant as Dan and his wife Kathy
traveled there with Dr. Bill and Helen Brownsen who modeled a servant leadership
that would become a model for them as they were soon to lead groups of their
own. In
the spring of 2001, after leading trips through That The World May Know Ministries,
Dan spent the month of May touring Turkey with the world renowned archaeologist
Avner Goren. Once again Dan was able to learn from the best, both
in knowledge of archaeology as well as in servant leadership. Since
that time Dan and Kathy have lead several tours to Greece and Turkey and co-lead
two tours of two hundred participants with Ray VanderLaan. Each of the
past three summers Dan and Kathy have spent two weeks living and working in
Antalya, Turkey providing games and English studies to underprivileged children
in that area.
It is their goal and desire to lead tours of the
Biblical sites in Turkey and Greece and also lead
a group of people who are willing to give a week
or longer to help the children in Antalya. |
